Greenville Creek Biomass

Description
The project would provide for biomass harvesting to be conducted on approximately 1;350 acres of private forestland that is adjacent to a recently funded pond and plug project on Greenville Creek which flows into Mountain Meadows Reservoir. This project will be designed to enhance this work by reducing the density of small understory trees; which will reduce the amount of evapotranspiration and canopy interception providing for increased infiltration into the soil. The project will also reduce fuel levels on the northern slopes of Keddie Ridge reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfire in that area protecting resources such as Deerheart and Homer Lakes. The project can be conducted in phases over a time period of 1 to 5 years.
