Develop a research area in Humbug Valley featuring Traditional Ecological Knowledge
(TEK) and western science in long term impacts of TEK implementation on ecological resources.
Hydrology, soil analysis, botanical resources, sensitive species, invasive species, habitat
inventory, wildlife resources, cultural resources, identifying needed restoration, cultural
resources, fire management, boundaries and public use/access are all areas for further
development and research.
The area will be used as a long term outdoor research area and will serve as an outdoor learning

Address water resources and wastewater needs of DACs and Native Americans, Build communication and collaboration among water resources stakeholders, Continue to actively engage in FERC relicensing within the Region, Coordinate management of recharge areas and protect groundwater, Effectively address climate change adaptation and/or mitigation in water resources management, Encourage municipal service providers to participate in regional water management actions, Enhance public awareness and understanding of water management issues and needs, Improve coordination of land use and water resources planning, Improve efficiency and reliability of water supply and infrastructure, Protect, restore, and enhance the quality of surface and groundwater resources, Reduce potential for catastrophic wildland fires in the region, Restore natural hydrologic functions, Work with counties/communities/groups to maintain capacity for water-related projects, Work with DWR to develop strategies and actions for the operation of SWP facilities
